Metaphors

Why am I using so much metaphors? As always, it’s pretty simple…

 

If I were to approach a caveman and tried to explain to them how gravity works using this equation:

 

 

They wouldn’t really understand me. That doesn’t mean they are stupid, it means I am stupid, because I’m trying to explain something to someone without using proper reference.

When learning something new the most effective way is to connect things you already know. As silly as it sounds I always explain animation to my fiancee using cooking reference (she loves cooking) and we sometimes have really deep conversations.
